The Growth Of Modular Furniture

Back in 2014, we saw huge growth in the sales of modular furniture. In our area of furniture cubes, pouffes and round stools became the fastest selling items due primarily to increasing population density and the need for functional living. City dwellers required customised storage, combined with seating. The cube footstool ottoman provided the perfect solution. 

Cube furniture fits into most spaces and can be combined to form high density seating units in public spaces such as bars, restaurants and reception areas. The trend towards increasing use of modular furniture shows no sign of abating in 2015.   

With increasing populations of non-native city dwellers, furniture tends towards low-cost and non-durable varieties whilst in-comers adapt to their new surroundings. This furniture needs to be;

1. Low cost 

2. Light & Portable

3. Functional

The tastes of people within these groups are (quite rationally) towards transient furniture, that which is relatively easy to store, uplift or dispose of. Low cost pouffes or smaller footstools provide solutions to all these needs and if boxed appropriately can be used time and time again. Clearly some of this furniture will be thrown away or be disposed of in some other way.
