Boucle Footstools FAQs
Boucle fabric is made with wooly yarn that has a lot of curls and loops, creating a teddy-bear like texture that’s soft to the touch. “Boucler” meaning “to curl” in French, this fabric composition dates all the way back to the early 19th century in France. It’s widely recognised for its warmth and comfort that it adds to so many interiors.

It’s easier than you might think to clean and maintain your boucle footstool. Regularly vacuuming it with an upholstery attachment can really make a difference when it comes to removing any build up of dust and hair. A Lint roller is also a really easy, cheap and useful accessory to quickly get rid of any pet hairs, making your footstool as good as new!
If a spillage occurs on your footstool, we recommend that you blot it with a damp cloth and a mild cleaning solution. Do not rub the stain around, as this may set the stain and pull the loops of the boucle fabric. After this quick process, you can simply use a separate damp cloth to rinse away any soap residue and gently pat dry it with a tea towel, and wait 12 hours for it to fully dry.
